CRIME

When we think of the term "suburbia", a term which increasingly characterizes our community, we envision fulfilled and supported families living in safe neighborhoods. Unfortunately, crime has begun to impact our "suburbia." As residents of District 40, we cannot allow crime in our communities; further, we must work tirelessly to address the social ills which lead to crime. If re-elected as your state Representative, I will continue to introduce legislation that will create stiffer penalties for crimes while dealing with rehabilitation to break the perpetual cycle of crime. In addition, we must continue to recruit and retain police officers. I will continue to work with the State of Hawaii Organization of Police Officers (SHOPO) to create incentives so that we have more officers here in Hawaii. Finally, I will continue to support social and economic programs to strengthen the fabric of our District.
